Bangladesh Military Museum

POV of a paraglider flying over a golden temple

As Creative Director on this project for Infinite Form, I led the development of three immersive VR simulator experiences for the Bangabandhu Military Museum in Dhakar, Bangladesh. Designed to showcase the country’s rich geography and infrastructure, the project brought together location filmmaking, 360-degree drone capture, CGI, motion platforms and real-time effects to deliver an immersive sense of place and motion.

The centrepiece was a virtual paraglider tour over the Chittagong Hill Tracts, an aerial journey designed to condense the scale and beauty of the region into just five minutes. To achieve this, we mounted a 360-degree camera to a drone and spent multiple days filming across remote mountain locations, often starting at sunrise and finishing at sunset. Transport involved helicopters, speedboats and “Chandar Gari” 4x4s. At one point we even coordinated a dam opening for a drone-speedboat chase sequence, and were welcomed with a blessing during a visit to a hilltop Buddhist temple.

The footage was later combined with a CGI paraglider pilot and canopy to create a seamless panoramic experience. A motion platform and fan system were programmed to respond precisely to each turn and tilt of the flight, allowing users to feel the shifts in airspeed and body movement as if they were really flying.

The second experience took visitors on a Jeep ride through the rugged hill region, while the third recreated a journey along the country’s N8 highway, showcasing an ambitious new bridge and cloverleaf interchange. Each simulator was developed with its own visual and physical language, but all three shared the same creative goal, to offer a vivid, emotionally engaging way of exploring parts of the country that many people would otherwise never get the chance to see.

This project was as much about accessibility and storytelling as it was about spectacle. By combining cutting-edge production with carefully chosen locations, we created something that celebrates the diversity of Bangladesh’s landscapes and invites audiences to connect with them in a personal, memorable way.
